In this article we take a full in-depth view on the NatureWise Vitamin D3.
No fancy claims, no BS – just plain raw truth on all that it is, all that it offers and will it be of good to you. No detail or aspect will be left not taken look at.
But above all, I’ve done my absolutely best to make this NatureWise Vitamin D3 Review the most comprehensive review on this supplement out there.
NatureWise Vitamin D3: Quick Overview
The description Page of the supplement is a very clean one. Pure and simple. Not overwhelmed with text.
The supplement is claimed to “support teeth and bone health, provide immune support, and promote healthy muscle function” and have the bio-active form of Vitamin D3. They claim that liquid softgel form is the more bioavailable form in comparison to other options.
They say that NatureWise Vitamin D3 is free of gluten and non-GMO. And that it has been third party tested to assure purity and potency of the product.
But above all, at the time of publishing this article NatureWise Vitamin D3 is the best selling Vitamin D supplement on Amazon.
So, it’s probable that it must be good…
Well, but is it?
The Core Vitamin – It’s D All The Way
As the supplement’s name already implies, the core vitamin that the NatureWise Vitamin D3 provides is the vitamin D.
It does not offer any other vitamins, minerals or other beneficial substances within itself. Singular, raw, lonesome vitamin D.
Typically in supplements and in medicine vitamin D is offered in either the form of Ergocalciferol or Cholecalciferol. The first is also known as Vitamin D2, and the last – as vitamin D3.
I bet you can guess, which of the forms this particular supplement has.
It’s the Vitamin D3 form (Cholecalciferol).
And that is a good thing. Because there is a very significant difference between these two forms.
Vitamin D3 is the same vitamin form that our bodies produce from sunlight. On the other hand, vitamin D2 is known as the synthetic form of the vitamin. Consequently, the D3 is a much, much better option.
There are also studies, which prove this same point.
I won’t go deep into the benefits of Vitamin D here as it’s worthy of an article on it’s own. However, do know that it is one of the most important vitamins to have. I’d even go as far as saying that it’s the most important vitamin of all vitamins there is to have.
Additives In NatureWise Vitamin D3: BENEFICIAL
There are a lot of harmful additives out there despite the fact that appropriate regulatory authorities do exist. However, in this regard NatureWise Vitamin D3 is all good and there is nothing to worry about.
This supplement has four additives – Organic extra virgin oil, Gelatin, Glycerin and Water.
The use of the word “additives” usually for people has a negative feel to it. However, not all additives are safe or harmful. There are also ones that are actually beneficial.
And Organic extra virgin olive oil is definitely among those.
Not only is it a great antioxidant, but it also offers such awesome health benefits as inflammation reduction, reduced risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and many others, as well as it fights off free radical damage, depression and improves brain health.
It is also the sole reason, why they are able to claim that the softgel form is the most beneficial of forms. It’s because vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin and can be best absorbed, if consumed together with a fat containing substance.
Which the olive oil most definitely is.
Of course, there might be some other probable explanation behind it. However, this is the most obvious one and definitely one that holds the most weigh in that statement.
Gelatin is also something that one can’t really fold. It’s quite the same as with Organic extra virgin olive oil – it’s beneficial.
Yeah, you might argue that how it’s made or what it’s made from isn’t the most appealing or appetizing of substances. Well, it’s made out of various animal parts like skin, tissue, ligaments, bones and tendons. The most popular animals in this regard are lambs, pigs, chicken, cattle and fish.
However, that is also why gelatin in of itself is an extremely beneficial substance. The composure of what it’s made offers great amount of amino acids, which are the building blocks of everything in our bodies.
As well as they bring a whole list of potential improvements for our health. It benefits joint, gut and skin health, as well as improves cognitive abilities.
The only negative aspect is that they do not specify of which animals it’s derived. Although, the 2000 IU version claims it to be Halal, the 5000 IU version claims no such thing. So, for some as well as vegetarians and vegans the NatureWise Vitamin D3 might not work.
Glycerin is a natural substance that is derived from either animal or vegetable fats. And being such it is quite unlikely to cause any unpleasant side effects.
Of course, as with any substance some people can be sensitive towards it, which can result in side effects. Supposedly also excessive use might not be of good.
And lastly – Water.
Well, water is water.
There’s nothing harmful about it, unless you try to drink an ocean.
Then it’s probably not healthy or beneficial to health in general.
NatureWise Vitamin D3 Avoids All Allergens
The NatureWise Vitamin D3 is free of yeast, wheat, gluten, dairy, corn, soy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, fish and shellfish.
Or in other words, it’s free of all major allergens, as well as some other stuff.
The Options Of NatureWise Vitamin D3
There in total are three options which one can go for. There’s a 1000 IU, a 2000 IU and a 5000 IU version. Which if converted into micrograms (mcg or μg) is 25, 50 and 125, respectively.
NatureWise themselves recommend that pretty much you should go for the 5000 IU every time. Which I would say is not the case.
For 5000 IU you should only go for, if you know that you are Vitamin D deficient.
However, if you are not sure about that, but suspect that you might be or you just want to maintain healthy levels of Vitamin D, then the 2000 IU version is your best bet.
NatureWise Vitamin D3: Conclusions
Overall I have to admit that NatureWise Vitamin D3 is a pretty awesome Vitamin D supplement in regards to which there’s no reason to shy away from.
Everything about it is safe, and it has Vitamin D in its most beneficial form.
So, if you’ve been in a look for a proper Vitamin D supplement that does not tax your health with unnecessary additives and improves your well-being – NatureWise Vitamin D3 is a great choice.
