In this article we’ll take an in-depth look on the Prime Labs Prime Test, a supplement marketed for improving of testosterone.

I plan on looking at all of the claims, its ingredients and to really dissect everything that it offers. No detail or aspect will be left out.

I hope and strive this to be the most comprehensive article on this supplement out there.

Prime Labs Prime Test Review: Quick Overview

Okay, so there are a few problems with the Prime Labs Prime Test right off the bat.

I tried really hard to find their official home page, but was completely unable to. Therefore, I’ve no idea what the manufacturer really is about and are they any good as an organization.

Prime Labs Prime Test ReviewAmazon have listed some of its claims that most likely originate from the manufacturer, but that is quite a guess nonetheless. It might be of some other source as well.

It is claimed that it helps in optimizing physical performance, building stronger and leaner muscles and improving mood. Claim of providing many essential health boosters is also asserted.

It’s also claimed that the supplement is backed by real studies.

Apparently the manufacturer calls this the best boost and male enhancer out there.

But to finish this all off, at the time of writing this article Prime Labs Prime Test is also the #1 Best Seller on Amazon in category “Sports Nutrition Testosterone Boosters”.

The Core Is 7 Various Substances Plus Boron

In its very essence Prime Labs Prime Test is a supplement compiled of 7 various beneficial substances, most of which are herbs, and the element Boron – all for the combined amounts of 1484 mili-grams. They call this the Testosterone Blend.

These seven substances are Horny Goat Weed (leaf), Tongkat Ali Extract (root), Saw Palmetto Extract (root), Orchic Substance, Wild Yam Extract (root), Sarsaparilla (root), Nettle Extract (root). So, these are and will be the ones that will be responsible for all (if any) benefits.

So, lets discuss some of that.

Horny Goat Weed is One of The Ingredients Present in The Prime Labs Prime TestHorny Goat Weed is an herb mainly recognized as a tool for combating low libido and erectile dysfunction both in men and in women. On top of that it does, however, offer also significant benefits in regards to bone health, as well as benefits in regards to testosterone production, increasing lean muscle mass, preventing inflammation, boosting energy levels and providing other benefits.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

All in all it’s a very versatile substance providing large number of various health benefits. In that sens the same can be said about Tongkat Ali Extract.

This substance also improves the gaining of lean muscle mass, stimulates libido, promotes sperm motility, as well as semen quality, and supports muscle growth. It is also great for maintaining bone health, and improving mood by rising physical and mental energy levels.[8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

Saw Palmetto is another substance, which helps with the testosterone levels, also increasing libido. On top of that it also improves prostate health, the urological system, helps with hair loss, as well as boosts immunity.[13] [14] [15] [16] [17] [18] [19]

Orchic Substance supposedly is good for Testosterone, but there is no evidence to actually support that. Nonetheless, it’s mainly used as a substance to maintain healthy testicular function. It’s also considered a powerful libido-boosting substance.[20] [21] [22]

Wild Yam is Yet Another Ingredient Present in Prime Labs Prime TestWild Yam is a very diverse substance. In total there are over 600 species of it, yet only about 12 are edible. But the edible ones offer quite some beenfits. There’s no where near as much potential benefits as Tongkat Ali, but their solid nonetheless.

Wild Yam relieves menstruation and negative effects of menopause, aids digestion, improves cholesterol levels, potentially also regulates blood sugar and fights off cancer. Supposedly the substance can also improve muscle function.[23] [24] [25] [26] [27] [28] [29]

Sarsaparilla is a really remarkable substance that does on one hand have it’s own unique benefits, for example, it is considered beneficial in terms of fighting cancer, improving liver health, battling Arthritis, increasing sex drive, promoting detoxification, improving metabolism, promoting good sleep, skin care, as well as loads of other benefits.[30] [31] [32] [33] [34] [35]

Yet on the other hand, it’s unique properties work as a booster for increasing the bioavailability of other herbs you’re consuming essentially making them more effective. Therefore, it’s truly a marvelous thing to use in conjunction with other herbs.[36]

And finally the Nettle Extract is a great substance for reducing inflammation, increasing libido, improving prostate health, decreasing blood sugar levels and reducing blood pressure, treating Eczema, relieving pain symptoms, and other benefits.[37] [38] [39] [40] [41]

Nettle is a Good Source of Quercetin and RutinOn top of that it also contains compounds like Quercetin and Rutin, which have a ton of benefits on their own.[42] [43] [44] [45] [46] [47] [48] [49] [50]

And lastly few words about the Boron part.

So, in the Prime Labs Prime Test we have Boron in form of Boron Amino Acid Chelate. Although, it’s not expressly indicated, which exact form of Amino Acid Chelate it is (there are many with various absorption rates), it’s safe to say that even in the worst case scenario, it should be a pretty good one.[51] [52] [53]

Meaning, as it’s not indicated expressly, we can assume that it’s the worst form absorption wise. But that would still be pretty good.

Overall it must be said that all of these ingredients are really good for what the Prime Labs Prime Test is marketed for. We pretty much have improving sexual function, muscle function and energy levels across the board.

However, although many might believe that these active ingredients are all that matters, it’s not like that at all. The additives added to the supplement are also stuff that we consume with taking of the supplement.

And in that they can affect our health.

Additives Are Completely Okay To Consume

Essentially I wouldn’t say that the Prime Labs Prime Test is too abundant in terms of additives. Which is a good thing.

It has four.

Prime Labs Prime Test Does Have Only 4 AdditivesThese four are Calcium Carbonate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Stearic Acid, and Magnesium Stearate.

Calcium Carbonate and Microcrystalline Cellulose both are completely okay to use and won’t transcend into any kind of side-effects for the supplement. As for the Stearic Acid and Magnesium Stearate it’s not that straight forward though.[54] [55] [56] [57] [58]

If you’ve ever googled something like “Stearic Acid side-effects” or “Magnesium Stearate side-effects”, you most likely have come across articles that actually state that these are harmful and should not ever be consumed.[59] [60] [61] [62] [63] [64] [65] [66]

Sadly though, all of these articles are based on what I believe might be either low quality research, or just random misconceptions.

The truth is that after actually diving into and immersing oneself into everything that is thrown at these two additives, I have to agree with the minority doctors, scientists and health experts that these are absolutely harmless additives to consume.[67] [68] [69] [70] [71]

Thus, it can be said that the Prime Labs Prime Test is actually also completely safe from the additive point of view.

There is, however, another aspect I would like to discuss that seems not to be as pretty as the first two,

Manufacturing Practices May Be The Only Downside

Manufacturing practices.

Yes, they matter quite a bit. Few things are directly correlated with those.

Manufacturing Practices Employed in Making Of Any Supplement Are Extremely ImportantFirst is the actual congruency to the label, meaning the ingredients that it claims to have. In poor practices the supplements will be highly incongruent not only in terms of the amounts of vitamins, minerals or in this case the beneficial substances that it has, but also in the substances and herbs that it has as such.

Or, in other words, if the supplement is poorly manufactured, it can actually have herbs that are not mentioned on the label. Which, however, is not as bad as the next point.

Meaning not only is it possible to have less of the claimed active ingredients, but it’s also possible to have unlisted or incidental additives. Meaning there might be a case of the Prime Labs Prime Test actually having more additives than it claims to have.

And lastly, it is all about the supplement’s purity. Not having sophisticated enough of purifying practices in place, may end up in you having contaminants in your supplement, which can take a toll on your health or just in general affect you negatively and be an extra unneeded burden for your health.

Manufacturing Practices Emloyed in Making of The Prime Labs Prime Test Are Largely A MysteryWhile all of these are not necessarily true in regards to the Prime Labs Prime Test, it still is a possibility.

This is because I was completely unable to find any kind or type of information that would specify what kind of care and practices are used in manufacturing the supplement.

The only remotely and superficially with the supplement connected organization that I was able to find was Prime Labs. But these Prime Labs from what I can tell are completely unrelated to the supplementation manufacturing, which makes you wonder, who manufacturers the Prime Labs Prime Test.

On top of that is the label design, which at least for me does not establish any kind of trustworthiness of the brand. I know that this is subjective, but I just wanted to put it out there, cause you might be thinking the same. Definitely let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Will This Help Me Sleep Better?

Can This Supplement Potentially Help You To Sleep Better? On the thread of Requesting a Supplement Review I was in a way asked, if this supplement could actually help one sleep better?

Based on all the ingredients that the supplement has and their benefits, I believe that it could possibly be the case.

There’s the Sarsaparilla, which as of itself promotes sleep. On top of that sleeping better should also just be a sort of a byproduct of having improved energy levels and metabolism.

The improved sleep also might have some correlation with the effects of boosting the immunity and preventing inflammation.

Final Thoughts On Prime Labs Prime Test

All in all, if the Prime Labs Prime Test is what it claims to be and it employs and adheres to at least somewhat decent manufacturing practices, then no doubt this is a great supplement.

The benefits that the herbs provide are truly marvelous and definitely have the potential to increase the sexual and muscle function, as well as energy levels and metabolism and have many other positive effects. What makes it even better is that it only has harmless additives.

Is This Supplement A Solid Product – What Do You ThinkThe bad side though is that the actual manufacturing practices used in producing the supplement are completely enveloped in the darkness.

To actually solve this, I believe that conclusions can be drawn from how they present and market the Prime Labs Prime Test. Essentially all that they are saying about the supplement in regards to it’s potential benefits is definitely true. On top of that it’s also a Amazon #1 bestseller with a decent rating.

All of which indirectly lead to somewhat believe that it should be a solid product, but again that can’t be for sure.

What do you think? 🙂

Cheers and have a Great One!

    Hey Matiss,

In reference to Prime Labs Prime Test – A Solid Boost For Testosterone? You have provided me with enough information for me to not buy the product because as you say “But these Prime Labs from what I can tell are completely unrelated to the supplementation manufacturing, which makes you wonder, who manufacturers the Prime Labs Prime Test.”

You do not know and I am thinking this supplement could be made in China. No regulations and therefore no information? Scary.

Also you said that the purity is not perfect and they could be adding anything, you could be allergic to the additive or the perfect cheap additive is of course sugar, providing 0 nutrients.

You have provided me with enough reasons not to buy this supplement from Prime Labs Prime test even though it is an Amazon best seller.

Thanks very much for the information.

      Hey, Jimmy!

I have to apologize, apparently, there is an official website, which I wasn’t able to initially find and which gives at least a somewhat of an idea on, who the manufacturer is. I will be updating the article shortly. And we’ll see if something changes when I review their website.

But either way, I definitely do agree that it’s pretty scary to buy a supplement that is not transparent about the manufacturing conditions and practices used.

Cheers and have a Great One!

    Great post and good info.

About the site I have to disagree however, it really exists, this is the site primelabs dot org/collections/for-men.

I’m in the bodybuilding and fitness world for a long while, first as a sporter, now as a trainer.

Testosterone supplements are good when you are over 21, before of that, your body is an anabolic steroid it selves, so it isn’t of any use to take it.

After that however, you will decrease in level, and taking this will have a lot of advantages.

Anyway, Prime Labs have very good supplements, and this is one of them.

For price\quality, it is one among the best.

    Thanks for sharing it!

And sorry I didn’t manage to get back to you sooner.

    Dear Matiss,

This is an interesting and helpful review. I can tell you I have taken some great insights from this post.

The in-depth and detailed information on each of the seven substances is very helpful. Also sharing the benefits of each is amazing.

Thanks for the clarification on the misconceptions on the side effects of Stearic Acid, and Magnesium Stearate. Nowadays before we buy anything we go and have a look at the reviews of those product which is a good thing. But we need to look at the genuine, well researched and unbiased reviews. Thanks for your great review.

    Wishing you great success!

Thank you for this very interesting article. In my life I have been through all stages of hormonal ups and downs, from puberty to pregnancy, giving birth and breastfeeding. And now I am way past the menopause. I have gone through all phases of libido jumps and all this time no one told me there could be something like Wild Yam testosterone booster and that it could have be the solution for moments of a low libido. Back then, it wasn’t something people would write about, I am very glad this is coming out of the taboo atmosphere.

This article for me provided a sealed view of what it is and what can I really expect from this specific partner in crime in terms of the abet. I loved how easy the review makes it for readers. No tally research needed.  As it was showing off in through the ingredients, I wonder what is their calculation in regards to wild yam. Namely, I’m in astonishment why they momentum this in a testosterone booster? As far away afield as I know, wild yam is usually included in supplements for women and used to adding going on progesterone naturally. As you reference in the review, it is a good help versus menstrual and menopause symptoms. This is a wonderful review indeed, it has provided a lot of knowledge and in so educated me a lot.

      Hey, Adebayo!

I’m stoked you enjoyed the article. I’m glad it was helpful and educational.

The truth about Wild Yam is that while it’s beneficial for menstrual and menopause symptoms, it’s also extremely valuable for men’s health. So, there’s definitely more good in it being in the supplement than not. Though as a testosterone booster I would not say it qualifies. There are, however, the supposed improvements of muscle function. But that I did already mention in the article.

Cheers, Adebayo! Have a Great One!

Hi! MatissDzelve, this is an excellent review of the product with lots of resourceful information. I do find that this will be helpful for those men who are physically weak at a certain level. I do find the overall composition of the ingredients of the Prime Labs Prime Test Testosterone booster really cool. Overall I like this supplement and I am planning to buy one of those to keep in my collection. Thanks for sharing this information with us.

I was reading this with interest til I came up to the section on Calcium Carbonate  It is downright dangerous.  My mother has been taking it for arthritis and I discovered it has made her a lot worse.  It causes low appetite, body tremours among other things.

Headaches included.  Maybe it is in small doses in your main testosterone product, but remember everyone tolerates additives in different ways.  Some are okay while some are not.

Apart from that, a very interesting article!

    • @MatissDzelve

      November 27, 2018 - 20:59

      Hey, Stella!

Hmm, that is genuinely interesting. Definitely sparked some interest to do some more research in regards to it.

I do believe, however, that that might have been an allergic reaction specifically for your mother.
I mean it’s very widely used as the active ingredient in all kinds of mediocre nutritional supplements, which would literally call for millions of people affected by the same symptoms. But I’ve heard of no such thing.

On top of that, I’m very confident it has been present in supplements that I myself have used in the past. And I record no such occurrences for me.

I strongly agree with the fact that we all are different. And in that regard, even as to the most harmless and even beneficial additives, there will always be some few select people who may experience some unpleasant effects due to them. It’s just a possibility that can’t be completely ruled out no matter how harmless or beneficial a substance is.

Cheers, I hope your mom gets well!

This Prime Lab Prime year solid boost for testosterone sounds like an interesting supplement and also for some reason I see it tricky. Probably because of the reason you described.

This article gives me a clear view of what it is and what can I really expect from this specific supplement in terms of the benefits. I loved how easy the review makes it for readers. No additional research needed. 🙂

Thanks for this detailed review of Prime Labs Testosterone Booster. As I read through the ingredients I notice they include wild yam. I wonder why they include this in a testosterone booster? As far as I know, wild yam is usually included in supplements for women and used to increase progesterone naturally. As you mention in the review, it can help improve menstrual and menopause symptoms.

      Hey, Ann!

I’m delighted you enjoyed the article.
Wild Yam indeed is very wildly used in supplementation for women. However, what I did find in my research was that it’s also beneficial for men. Obviously, it does not have the same benefits on women than it does on men, but it’s beneficial nonetheless.
I do believe it’s mainly added to the Prime Labs Testosterone Booster because of the supposed benefits of improved muscle function.

Cheers and have a Great One!
