Nutrient Amounts & Efficiency

“No Vitamin Left Behind” – MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula

MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula Plus Vitamin K contains incredible amounts of vitamins such as Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12, C, D3, E, K1, K2, and Choline. Furthermore, not only it is as complete as it can be nutrient diversity wise, it’s also that way in terms of vitamin amounts (see Prime Daily Values).

Overall Assessment of Vitamins for the ProThera MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula plus Vitamin KThe only exception to this is Vitamin B12. However, it is still found in the supplement in pretty significant amounts and the best form for consumption possible.[3] [4] So, I wouldn’t consider it as a negative.

The Vitamin A primarily comes in a form of preformed retinol, which enable our bodies to use it almost immediately for carrying out needed functions.[5] [6] [7] This form of Vitamin A is essential for our bodies as it can’t be replaced by any amounts of beta-carotine and is also not toxic as some might believe.[8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]

A thing to know is that Vitamin A is not all preformed retinol always and preferably. We also need another form of Vitamin A – carotenoids (they are irreplaceable). In this supplement also those are in a good amount.[14] [15]

As for Vitamin B1, studies indicate that the most effective form of it is Benfotiamin.[16] [17] [18] [19] [20] Yet, it is very rarely used in supplements. Very rarely. In this case the form this vitamin is in (Thiamine Hydrochloride), it’s kind of a standard when it comes to the forms of this Vitamin. So this form is definitely something one need not avoid.[21] [22]

Vitamin B2 in the free form is one of the best choices for this particular vitamin.[23] [24] [25] The same can also be said about Vitamin B5.[26] [27] [28] [29]

Vitamin B3 – it has many great forms one can consume. The forms in MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula Plus Vitamin K are among those.[30] [31] [32] [33]

Vitamin B6 definitely could be in a more effective form. The best form for Vitamin B6 is Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (often referred to as P5P).[34] [35] [36] [37]

Whereas, Vitamin B7 and Bare both in forms that are the most effective for consumption.[38] [39] [40] [41] [42]

The particular Vitamin C form although is not the best, but it still have shown in various studies to be as effective as the natural one.[43] [44] It is believed that the best form for Vitamin C absorption is through forms of mineral ascorbates (for example, Magnesium Ascorbate, Calcium Ascorbate, etc.).[45] [46]

Vitamin D3 is the best form for Vitamin D consumption. This in essence is the same form of the vitamin that our body makes from sunlight. Thus, being the natural form of the vitamin, it is also the most effective when consumed.[47] [48]

Vitamin E here is in a pretty good shape, having alpha, beta, delta, gamma  tocopheryl groups in natural forms is incredibly good.[49] [50] Although, there are four more groups of Vitamin E that would be desirable, [51] [52] [53] having those 4 out of complete number of eight is amazingly good for a multivitamin supplement.

Vitamin K1 in its form is the natural form of this vitamin and the most effective one.[54] [55] [56] The same can be said about Vitamin K2.[57] [58] It’s crucial to know that both of these vitamins have some mayor benefits and that both of them are needed.[59] It’s clear that any one of these both can’t substitute the other, hence they both are very good to have.

Choline as suggested in the studies, is related to better overall performance of the brain (better memory, focus, learning ability etc.).[60] [61] [62] Consequently, it is very beneficial for our minds and a must have for a daily supplement.

Choline as Choline Bitartrate is considered as one of the cheapest sources of Choline, but being such it still makes up for a solid cognitive enhancement.[63]

All Mandatory Minerals, All Health in this MultiThera

MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K) contains all but one mineral that are needed for our bodies and minds to function at their best. To be exact, this supplement has Calcium, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, Boron and Vanadium. The only one missing is Potassium.

Overall Assessment of Minerals for the ProThera MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula plus Vitamin KBut similarly as with Vitamin B12, the lack of Potassium also shouldn’t be considered as a negative. This is because in reality supplementation with Potassium is considered to be quite optional. Furthermore, you should never supplement more than 100 mg of Potassium (as indicated by Prime Daily Values) as it can be very, very dangerous and potentially very, very harmful.[64] [65] [66] [67]

Calcium here is in the form we want it to be. As a Citrate-Malate it is one of the most bioactive and beneficial forms of all the forms available.[68]

Iodine in the supplement is derived from kelp, which is an okay form for supplementation of Iodine.[69] [70] However, there are many better forms of Iodine out there.[71] [72]

Magnesium in the supplement is present in two forms. Both of these forms are very good for consumption and are considered very effective.[73] [74] [75] [76]

As goes for Zinc, any chelated form is ideal for consumption (some being more efficient than others, but all very good).[77] [78] Similarly, Selenium is present in the supplement in what’s considered the best form for consumption.[79] [80] [81]

As for Copper, there isn’t a definite answer as to how available to the body this particular form of Copper is. However, in general any form of amino acid chelate is among the best choices.[82] [83] [84] Also Manganese and Molybdenum in the form of chelate seem to be the best option available.[85] [86] [87] [88]

Whereas, Chromium is present in the supplement not in the most effective, but still a very effective form.[89] [90] [91] Similarly, it also is with Boron.

Numerous studies have shown Calcium Fructoborate to be by far the best form of Boron for intake. This is not only the natural form of Boron found in edible plants, but it’s extremely beneficial both in supplementation and in medicine.[92] [93] [94] As goes for the form found in MultiThera, it still seems to be among some of the best choices.[95] [96]

Lastly, about Vanadium – its form seems to be the best among many, delivered in a safe and absorbable way for the body.[97] [98] [99]

Only The Most Important as Beneficial Substances

As of other beneficial substances MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K) contains Inositol, Para-Aminobenzoic Acid and Citrus Bioflavonoids.

Inositol as such is extremely needed for the brain to function at its best, because it facilitates the communication between the brain cells. Other than that, it has loads of different benefits for improving of mental health – it eases depression,[100] [101] anxiety[102] and panic attacks,[103] reduces symptoms of Obsessive-Compulsive disorder (OCD)[104] and many other[105] [106] [107] [108].

Furthermore, although our bodies do produce Inositol on their own, it is recommended to take 25-50 mg of Inositol daily.[109] And MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula Plus Vitamin K provides just that.

Para-Aminobenzoic Acid has 4 main benefits: it improves hair and skin health, as well as supports intestinal bacteria and red blood cell production. Similarly as it was with Inositol, Para-Aminobenzoic Acid is also not something that can only be found in supplements. But having extra won’t hurt.[110] [111] [112]

Citrus Bioflavonoids (also naturally found in most fruits and vegetables out there) have great antioxidative abilities. And by that I mean not only antiviral and antiallergic, but also antitumoral, antiplatelet, antihypertensive and overall anti-inflammatory abilities.[113] [114] [115] [116] To put it in simple terms, this basically means that they help to fight off most bad stuff (being a great support to the immune system). Meaning in essence they can also be considered as another form of Vitamin C.

Moreover, Citrus Bioflavonoids are also believed to impact positively heart, skin and blood vessel health.[117] Furthermore, Bioflavonoids like Hesperidin have also shown brain protective abilities (against various types of insult), ability to prevent depressive behaviour and memory impairment.[118]

Additives Here Are Almost Like Vitamins

So we’ve finally reached the potentially most red-flagged section regarding the ingredients of MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K). This is because in making of a multivitamin supplement not all manufacturers use harmless additives.

By the way, additives are mandatory for a multivitamin supplement, so there is no option of not having any. This is because additives ensure that all of the nutrients within the supplement are held together. So without additives there is no possibility of making a multivitamin supplement.

Regarding MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K) – all additives are harmless (and hence great for long-term use).

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (also known as E464)[119] is a synthetic alteration of cellulose, which is a natural substance found in wood and otherwise all plant structures.[120] [121] The consumption of it is considered safe[122] [123] [124] and even claimed to be slightly beneficial[125]. Other than that, even if one manages to overdose this by taking infinite amount of pills daily, it is believed that most likely that person would encounter either no adverse effects or some bloating or constipation.[126] [127]

Silicon dioxide (also known as E551) is a substance naturally found in pretty much everything – in our bodies, in animals, in plants, in water and even in the earth itself.[128] Furthermore, studies have shown no long-term threat to health even when silicon dioxide is used in huge amounts.[129] [130]

L-leucine (also known as E641) is the natural form of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) (also present in human body).[131] [132] [133] So, although it’s categorised as a flavouring agent, at the same time it is the natural form of an amino acid that can’t be produced within our bodies. In fact, we consume this same form of natural leucine by eating seafood, chicken, beef, nuts, cheese, seeds, fruits, eggs, soybeans.[134] [135]

In crazy big amounts L-leucine is reported to have some adverse effects (possible brain damage and liver disease, possible decrease of happiness neurotransmitter Serotonin). Needless to say though, it’s impossible to achieve these kind of amounts consuming it just as an additive to a supplement (or even numerous supplements).[136] [137] [138]

Other than that, in reasonable amounts L-leucine does offer such benefits as increases of energy and protein production, as well as many more (because it is one of the essential amino acids – one of the irreplaceable amino acids).[139] [140] [141] [142] [143] [144] [145]

Natural Citrus Flavour could be the Achilles’ heel of MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K). There is some pretty big controversy regarding the actual safety of flavouring in general.[146] [147] Furthermore, there can possibly be nothing “natural” about flavouring as both artificial and natural flavours can contain some additional, potentially unwanted substances.[148] [149] [150] [151]

Keeping this in mind, I decided to contact the manufacturer of the supplement for some additional information on Natural Citrus Flavour, which is used in it.

I was informed that in making of Natural Citrus Flavour minimum amounts of the following ingredients are used: Laminaria digitate (a species of alga), phytin, lemon, orange, lime, tangerine and grapefruit peels, hesperidin (a bioflavonoid extracted from citrus peels), and pine bark. Right off the bat it’s evident that all ingredients, except one, are taken from natural sources. So what is phytin?

Phytin is a substance of phytic acid findable in plants, in which it serves as the main storage reserve for organic phosphorus.[152] [153] [154] So, most likely if one ever eats any plants at all (like wheat, corn, cuts, rice, seeds, beans etc.)[155] [156] that person is also consuming phytic acid.

The only drawback ever called to its name is its making of Zinc, Iron, Manganese, Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium less absorbable. But this is something to definitely not be concerned of as the amounts of phytin are kept to the minimum.[157] [158] [159] [160] On the other hand though, phytic acid (phytin) is amazing – it works as an incredible antioxidant, fights off cancer cells, helps the removal of heavy metals from the body, dissipates kidney stones and has loads of other benefits.[161] [162] [163] [164]

Conclusions on the MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula Plus Vitamin K

MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K) is an awesome multivitamin supplement to use daily. It provides all of the nutrients that are needed daily in almost always complete amounts and in forms that almost always are the best, most effective and beneficial for intake.

And I must emphasize another point, because a lot of multivitamin supplements struggle with this… Additives in MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K) are as harmless as they get (you could even say that they are healthy).

As I am aware that for some people the nutrient (vitamin and mineral) amounts might seem quite high, therefore, I must assure that this is nothing to be worried about. In fact, nutrients in these kind of amounts are essential for optimal health (for more information check out article on Prime Daily Values).

Even more so, nutrients in these kind of amounts are not hazardous as all nutrient amounts are well below so called Upper Tolerable Intake Levels.

Simply put, an Upper Tolerable Intake Level is the highest amount of a particular nutrient intake (daily) that poses no risk of adverse effects, if used for very, very long periods of time (I do believe that the term ‘eternity’ wouldn’t be an overstatement here).[165] [166] And MultiThera 1 Capsule Formula (plus Vitamin K) with its nutrient daily values does not exceed either the U. S. or the European Union standards for these levels.[167] [168] [169] [170] (For more information regarding Upper Tolerable Intake Level of Niacin in European Union, click on the reference)[171]

Therefore, there is no health risk, if you decide to try it out. It can’t harm you in any way. It can just make you better.

Thanks for sharing. Just last week I bought a new bottle of vitamins. I was looking for another brand, I was previously a user of Pharmaton. When my current bottle of Jameson is empty, I may just try this one.

Hi Matiss, I enjoyed reading through your assessment of the vitamins in this product. I didn’t know that phytin dissolved kidney stones – something I could have used for my husband when he suffered from this a few years ago. Thank you, and keep up the good work! We need to know which supplements are going to benefit us and not be a total waste of money or have side effects.
